In 1945 in an American de-Nazification camp near Munich four thousand men from every walk of life await the verdicts on their past. Many are innocent, a few are war criminals whom the world waits to try. In this novel , Hans Hellmut Kirst picks out the holes in the fabric of American administration and German moral attitudes with the same relentlessness he has shown in spotlighting the weaknesses of the German army and german civilian institutions. The text block has light discolouration and spotting. The D/W has some light marking to the rear panel and shows a narrow discolouration band around the end flaps, and a small mark to the front cover. Otherwise a clean tight copy.
